In literature, a tragic hero is a virtuous character who is destined for downfall, suffering or defeat. Most tragic heroes are prominent social figures, which makes their fall even harder. These tragic heros may also have a tragic flaw. Brutus is a prime example of a tragic hero. Brutus, who was held at the same esteem as Caesar, faces a major conflict of being loyal to his dear friend ,Caesar, or being loyal to the people of Rome. Brutus has a strong relationship with Caesar, but an even stronger relationship with the people of Rome. He is after all a noble citizen and leader to these people.
