In the society we live in now men still tend to think that women must still obey and cater to their every need as if women have no voice over their rights. One of the most controversial subjects that has been around for a long time is women’s access to birth control. The topic of birth control is extensive is includes whether women have the right to have an abortion in their home states, regardless of the situation in which they happen to get pregnant. Women shouldn’t have to be integrated when they choose to have an abortion. In the government the men in power feel that they have the right to choose for women. A little background of policy I would like to propose is that college campuses advertise the services they provide to students in the clinic with a description of the cost. Another key thing that the policy would include would be having vending machine with the most common birth control like the pill, patch, condoms and even plan B. In that whole list i feel that more conservative people would not agree with the plan B but why disagree it would only benefit the students because mistakes happen. While writing another paper I had to conduct an online survey so I figured I would do this for this for the purpose of the paper. Online I conducted a survey for college students who I personally and also had them shared it with their friend from other states, the results were mind blowing. The questions used were do you believe that school should have birth control vending machines? It was a binary (yes/no) survey, with 95% of the students voting yes. Although I received many comments about this survey one particular comment caught my attention. A student from Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania stated that in 2012 the students at her college voted to have plan B and other contraceptive vending machines on campus so there is easier access to them. When I first heard of this it blew my mind how does conservative Pennsylvania have a campus with birth control vending machines and liberal California hasn’t even thought of it. So although the policy that I want to propose has already been put into place I will go into depth about how the vending machines would work. Under FDA Guidelines Plan B is already available to everyone who is over the age 17 without a prescription. With that being said the assessments that would need to be to the vending machines would be that student would have to use their Student Identification card to verify their age to purchase Plan B.
