Many people suggest the fault lies with an inadequate educational system. Due to many of the schools being over crowded, there are not enough teachers to go around and the student body does not get the specific attention it needs to learn properly. Sometimes the teachers are the ones who lack the education needed to instruct. Many do not even realize when there is a reading or learning issue with a student. There could actually be a serious learning disability such as Dyslexia or other difficulty that may be effecting the child's ability to learn. Many of the educators just look the other way as not to be burdened with the problems.
Favoritism, Poverty, and lack of caring for education. There is no doubt that teachers will pick favorites. Teacher’s do not always have to tell you who their favorite student is because sometimes you can just tell by the teachers actions towards another student. Poverty is a huge issue in today’s school system. Schools do not have any money to pay for new or updated books, the schools are ran down, students don’t have the financial and mental support from their parents and school.
In my elementary school alone, there were a number of student’s parents that did not speak English very fluently. Our school took measures such as publishing the newsletter in different languages. If such a high number of non-English speaking parents exist, then why do schools give massive amounts of homework, while knowing full well that there may be no one in the home to help if a question arises? As for regular parents, one cannot expect every parent to be familiar with the curriculums of grade 12 math, or grade 11 chemistry. Thus, one can see why the limited guidance available to students at home creates a negative effect on a student’s homework.
Lengthened school days help to create a supportive environment for studying. After school, it is difficult for children to concentrate on homework. Many children’s homes are too crowded, and they are usually distracted by parents, friends, TV, or games. There are many other interesting things that they can do out of school, so students forget about what their teachers told them to study. Also, parents cannot help too much with their homework and only waste children’s time or give incorrect answers. My father tried to help me with a math course. I could not understand his explanations, because he was not a professional tutor. Finally, he confused me even more, and I had to make an appointment with my math teacher.
Over-Crowded School Systems Nobody likes being uncomfortable. It is very hard to achieve things, as well, when one is uncomfortable. Students in overcrowded schools, public schools especially, have this major problem. The school systems today are being overfilled with students, and nobody is ready or expecting it all.

The fact of going back to school means much for kids as they are excited of seeing again their friends, looking forward to have new experiences and it is also mean the resumption of homework which children have to do at home in the evening with great dismay for some of them, surrounded by their parents who try to help as much as they can. Without parent involvement, unless a child is self-motivated to go to school and do their work, it will be difficult to pass to the next grade level, and in time, graduate. When students see that their parents are involved in their school, it shows them that their parents care about their education. This sets a good example for the student, and they are likely to model their parents and believe that education is important and beneficial. This is especially true when students see their parents volunteering in their school. In order for a child to see their education as something important, they have to believe that their parents feel the same, especially at a young age.

Yet in areas with high poverty rates, schools tend to have a lower rate of parental involvement. Though the student is mature enough to notice what supports they need, the student is often neglected and is left crying in the wind, going unheard. Parental involvement can be a turning point in students’ lives and without it, students are less motivated to complete high school. Parents often miss the warning signs of students that are close to dropping out of school. In eighth grade, students becoming disengaged, absent more than twenty percent of the school day and failing English and Math. It has been estimated that by eighth grade, 64.5% of students are less than proficient in math and reading (Balfanz et al., 2014). In ninth grade, warning signs include having poor attendance and not being able to proceed to the next grade on time because of not having the appropriate amount of credits to complete the grade (Furger, 2008).
