Have you ever went back in time? Or even got into a fight with a crocodile? In two stories “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” both of these will happen. I will be finding similarities and differences between these two stories. I will look at the conflict between the two stories. Also the setting and how they were similar and different. Lastly the theme between the two stories. In all you will be hearing about the similarities and differences of the conflict, setting, and theme with these two stories. “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” have many similarities and differences settings wise. Both stories have a jungle like setting. What is different is in the “Sound if Thunder” they switched to that jungle like setting for most of the story. Another reason they are different is in “Sound of Thunder” they had historic animals in their setting, unlike “Being Prey” they have animals we can see today. In conclusion they have many similarities, but also as many differences. In the two stories “A Sound of Thunder” and “Being Prey” they are very similar and different conflict wise. Both of the stories get in a problem or have a problem with an animal. What is not the same is the animal and how they got into the conflict with the animal. In the two stories they both don’t listen to what others tell them which could be the theme. Eckels didn’t listen to Travis when he told him if he panicked he would die. The author in “Being Prey” was told not to get out her canoe and don’t go towards the crocodiles and she did both. They are also different in many ways as well. The reason Eckels got in a big problem is he had a choice not to go on the trip, he thought he was ready. Plumbwood had a choice to not go on the trip, but she didn’t know she would run into the crocodile or get hit with a storm. In conclusion they are very similar but different at the same
