Barack Obama was a strong president for many reasons. Barack Obama was the 44th president of the United States of America. He set many standards and achieved many goals in his two presidential terms. Many people didn't think he should have been president because he was born in Hawaii two years after it became a state. Barack Obama was born August 4, 1961 in Honolulu, Hawaii. His parents were Stanley (Ann) Dunham and his father was Barack Obama Sr., they split up when he was only an infant. His mother was a White American from Kansas and his father was an African American from Kenya. After the divorce, he would only see his father about once or twice every year. He and his mother would always be moving around since the divorce, so she decided he would stay with his grandparents for a while. At one point in time, he was living Indonisia with his mother, he also had a pet ape named Tata. When his mother was around, she would always do what was best for him. When he was growing up, his mother thought he could be president at a young age. When he was younger, people would call him Barry, the nickname went away when he went to college. He also loved reading comics, his favorite was superman. He has also read every Harry potter book. Another thing he loves is basketball. He used to play for his high school team in Chicago, where he earned the nickname “O’bomber.” Growing up he wanted to be an architect, but growing up he decided that he would run for president. When he was running for president, he had promised his daughters that he would buy them a dog. He bought a Portuguese water dog, they named it Bo. He is now worth 12.2 million dollars.
