Teenage love is always dangerous

Authority can never change. In modern society, parents have more authority than their children. Many children are afraid to argue with their parents, even it is about their future. Also, in Elizabethan society that Romeo and Juliet take place, the solid hierarchy was existed. The top hierarchy of the universe was god, and followed by king and queen. Also, parents had more authority than children as same as modern society. However, Romeo and Juliet against the rule of society, and they die at the end. It shows that the tragedy of “Romeo and Juliet” demonstrates that teenagers who do not follow their parents or parental figures end up with bad future, which is indicated by the disobedience of Romeo, rebellion …show more content…

Firstly, Romeo says “I fear too early... By some vile forfeit of untimely death” ( I.v.106-111). Romeo knows that he is going to the party of his family’s enemy, and also he feels some senses of death, but he still goes to the party to see Rosaline by his choice. This shows the disobedience of Romeo to his family. Secondly, Friar Lawrence says to Romeo, “Is Rosaline, that thou didst love so dear... when there’s no strength in men” (II.iii.65-80). Friar Lawrence knows how much Romeo loved Rosaline before, so he is so shocked that Romeo forgets about Rosaline and telling him that he is going to marry with Juliet today. Firstly, “Why, uncle, ‘tis a shame” (I.v.76-80) “He shall be endur’d... you’ll be the man!” (I.v.76-80). Tybalt finds out that Romeo is in the party, so he tells about it to Capulet, but Capulet allows Romeo to stay in the party. Tybalt gets mad and he decides not to forgive Romeo. It indicates that Tybalt disobeys to Capulet. Secondly, “If ever you disturb our street again... For this time all the rest depart away” (I.i.90-92) “Come, sir, your ‘Passado’” (III.1.81). Prince warns Capulet and Montague that if they do the fight on street again, somebody may die. However, Mercutio’s hate to Tybalt cause him to be more aggressive and it leads to Mercutio and Tybalt’s death. This shows the disobedience of Mercutio to Prince. Lastly, “This is that banish’d haughty Montague... I will apprehended him” (v.iii.49-53). Paris tells Romeo that he is going to banish, but Paris does not have the right to say it to Romeo, Prince has. It indicates the disobedience of Paris to Prince.
The tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is warning that teenagers should not rebel to their parents because teenager’s choice are often not the best choices as they think. The fate forces Romeo, Juliet, Tybalt and Mercutio to their death, and forces Paris to not marry with Juliet because they all disobeys to their parents or parental figures who have more attitude than them.
