Of these, 7.7 million, or 35%, are seeking relief from back pain from various causes, including accidents, sports injuries, and muscle strains. Other complaints include pain in the neck, arms, and legs, and headaches.” Chiropractic doctors are necessary for these people in pain. The field of chiropractics, a fascinating career, is based upon certain philosophies, has a wide scope of practice with a variety of treatments, requires a certain educational process and ethical considerations, and has had a long history with some controversies. The field of chiropractics was founded by D.D Palmer in the 1890s, and with the help of his son, Palmer expanded it in the early twentieth century. “Chiropractic” clarified that Chiropractors manage the neuromusculoskeletal system without medicines or surgery. Some chiropractors specialize in back and neck pain while others focus on many different musculoskeletal issues. Chiropractic combines mainstream and alternative medicine. Massage therapy, osteopathy, physical therapy, and sports medicine all use some type of chiropractic care. Chiropractors are able to refer their patient to the appropriate specialist, but chiropractors are not licensed to write prescriptions or perform a surgery
