While this lifestyle is slowly becoming more popular and being adopted by more people, the current trend of “bigger is better” in the housing market continues. Most everyone can agree that a bigger house with an open floor plan can generally be more comfortable to live in, does this comfort justify the various other costs associated with owning a bigger house? When you can build a house for only 17% of that at $50,000, it is hard not to consider “going tiny.” A tiny house can become even more enticing when you consider that a $50,000 tiny house is often made without sparing any expense and settling for cheaper materials. Versus the larger home where building with nicer materials translates into a substantial jump in price. The operational cost of owning a tiny house is also a fraction of the cost of a larger home. With a tiny house, you have less cubic feet to heat and cool and fewer light fixtures to power. This translates into electrical bill savings. With less area to clean, you save on cleaning supplies. Due to the tight space in a tiny house, you have to be very critical when buying things. You have to not only budget your money but also your space. With the extra money you save from lower expenses, you can suddenly afford to do and have the things you always wanted that were previously out-of-reach. You can be more stringent on what you are willing to settle for. You can enter interviews not worried about how badly you need the job and can focus more on what that company can offer you in addition to the standard compensation and employee benefits.
