Using a Mallet to Crack an Egg This picture, in my opinion, represents the excessive use of force to complete a simple task, or in other words, overkill. The mallet in the picture is an unnecessary tool in the process of breaking an egg, as it ultimately causes more damage than benefit. There is no indication of velocity in this picture, but due to the nature that it represented in, it seems like when the mallet finally crashes down it will end up shattering not just the egg, but the eggcup as well. However, I believe this is more than a picture of an egg about to get slammed by a hammer; it is a light-hearted metaphor to depict the nature of nuclear weapons. In The Eggs of the World, Toshio Mori writes about 3 men meeting, one rich, one a poor drunkard, and the narrator. The point of view Toshio Mori uses in this story is peripheral first person. This use of a somewhat uncommon way of writing and viewing a story gives a look at events that is objective while not being unfeeling. Peripheral first person gives balance between personal stake in the matter, but not so much as to lose objective view. This viewpoint also gives new looks on the characters surrounding the author, giving both personal opinion and removed observation. Lastly, peripheral 1st person gives a twist on which facts may or may not be included in a narrative. In The Eggs of the World the use of peripheral 1st person influences the characterization and either including or omitting specific facts while balancing between personal involvement and objective observation.

Background info: hypertonic solution was used in the lab, hypertonic is the liquid substance that is going out of the egg. When a red blood cell has more water than what's outside then the water will come out and will become smaller. Hypotonic is when the water on the outside of the cell has more water than the inside, the water will go in the inside to make it run smoothly. Isotonic is when the inside and outside of the cell is each, they will stay the same.
In the forth stanza the poet uses hyperboles like “castles and every hole an abyss,” to create vivid visual imagery emphasising the peril of the turtles situation.
This is an example of the deadliness of Sharpshooters during the Civil War. They rained death with unnerving accuracy, turning a rifle into a weapon to be feared and causing both physical and emotional damage. The weapons used during the Civil War were crude compared to the technology of the weapons today, but in the hands of trained and skilled men they became a machine to be feared.
In the novel, Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, a group of British schoolboys are stranded on an island, and soon find that fending for themselves and staying civilized is not as easy as they thought it would be. Although they start off with an organized society, through interactions with each other and objects around them, they become completely savage over time. Golding employs the symbolism of Jack, the conch shell, and the beast to serve the purpose of the allegory of the inherent evil of the human race.

The poem substitutes pleasure for bullet when it says that the gun barrel, "let it's pleasure through." The bullet is the gun's pleasure that and he smiles warmly when firing it. The gun, and therefore it's master takes pleasure in the violence and deadly force of the loaded gun.

The end of the poem serves to revert back to the backyard dawn the roosters initially announced. The point of view changed from the realm of the sculpture to focus on the gradual growth of nature from “underneath,” as the “low light” of the sun gilds the “broccoli, leaf by leaf.” The emphasis on militarism takes a back seat to Christian forgiveness, which then yields to nature. Bishop doesn’t endorse any one perspective of the rooster’s contradictory symbolic meanings thus preserving the disjunctive quality of the poem. The new order introduced by the sun is ambiguous and unstable as its faithfulness is likened to that of an “enemy, or friend” making the almost “inaudible” roosters withdraw along with their “senseless order”.

Of all of these symbols, perhaps some of the most important are the symbols found in literature. In using simplistic symbols to represent profound ideas, authors construct a kind of “key”: one that allows readers to look past the surface of a story and reflect on the deeper messages beneath. Such is the nature of the symbols found in William Golding’s Lord of the Flies. As a group of boys stranded on an island struggle to survive without adult supervision to maintain order, Golding uses a variety of objects to convey their descent from civilization into brutality, violence, and savagery. Of these objects, three hold particular significance. In Lord of the Flies, Golding uses the conch, the signal fire, and the Lord of the Flies to symbolize civilization, hope for rescue, and inner evil while conveying an overall theme of innate human evil.

Egg Albumen Experiment The purpose of this investigation is to establish which is the lowest concentration of Copper (II) Sulphate solution that will denature a sample of egg albumen (egg white) at room temperature. The base of the reaction is the globular protein (albumen) being denatured by a heavy metal (Copper (II)), the copper (II) reacts with the NH3 group causing it to denature, this means the proteins' secondary and tertiary structures are being altered and refolding into different shapes, this resulting in a change from the substance being clear to turning opaque.[1] As the concentration of the denaturants increases more folding and changing of shape will occur and therefore more denaturing will occur and at a faster rate. From this I can predict that that lowest concentration of the solution is approximately at 0.03m solution.
