For my response paper I chose write about the Disney movie, Enchanted. This fairy tale aired in November 2007. I chose this fairy tale because it begins as an animated movie and as the plot thickens the animation converts into real world. Enchanted is a modern Disney fairy tale about a young maiden named Giselle, that lives in the forest awaiting to meet the prince of her dreams. One day she is being chased by a giant troll and a prince happens to save her. They harmoniously fall in love and are set to be wed. But Prince Edward has an evil stepmother, Queen Narissa, that does not agree with the marriage because this would mean that she would lose control of the kingdom. Another part of this ritual is for two people that are in love with each other to sing and complete their duets. Another ritual in the fairytale is true love’s kiss, as described by Mr. Edward F. Sylvia, “a kiss symbolizes connection and conjunction between truth and love” (thegodguy.wordpress.com). He continues to explain that through this act the person is now able to see things with a deeper meaning. In the fairy tale of Enchanted, Prince Edward realizes that he is not Giselle’s love because he is unable to awaken her from her sleep, Robert is the one that accomplishes this. A third ritual in the fairy tale is looking at a magic mirror, according to Mr. Sylvia this symbolizes “a person who loves themselves more than others” (thegodguy.wordpress.com). In the fairytale of Enchanted, Prince Edward is resting in a hotel room in Manhattan and finds himself talking to the television which he refers to as a Magic Mirror. As the friend of the maiden I would want her to get everything she desires and deserves, to find a prince and receive true love’s kiss. Pimp is not a main character but he does hold an important supporting role. This describes my way of being, I am a bit shy but I make up for this with determination. The kingdom of Andalasia is just as sacred as true love’s kiss and as Pimp I would help with maintaining peace. Andalasia is sacred to everyone that lives there just as my place of worship is sacred to me. Therefore, I would be inclined to contribute into keeping it clean and
