Inspirational writer, Elie wiesel in his magnificent speech, “The Perils of Indifference,” he claims that although indifference could be a great thing it's also extremely horrifying. He supports his message by shedding light on all the tragedies happening around the world during world war II; Furthermore, the author believes that Indifference is not only a sin but a punishment. Continuing on, Indifference causes suffering and the main reason to making a human inhuman. Wiesel’s purpose is to achieve persuasion towards indifference. He establishes a thoughtful tone for readers by using stylistic and rhetorical devices such as Imagery, Repetition, and Word choice in order to achieve his purpose that as long as there's indifference people's humanity will be ripped from them and people will continue to suffer.Wiesel’s message about the inhumanity of indifference and the importance of resistance is still relevant today. …show more content…

Furthermore, the recent genocide still to this day continues to attack innocent civilians and several have been affected by violence and have been some displacement. In the speech “The perils of Indifference” Elie wiesel talks about the tragedies a genocide has and the importance to “Indifference”, and such things as cruelty, the darkness, the punishment & the evil of it all . Ultimately, The genocide in Darfur holds a strong connection to Elies speech while people remain to have no voice and continue to live opon
