The impressive quick development of new revolutionary technologies represents one major evolution factor of the 21st century. Scientific researchers and most enterprises work closely on the implementation of these new technologies, although they appear as public controversies. The humans’ concern about Artificial Intelligence (AI), among many others, raises in importance, as one notices the increasing number of recent movies, such as Ex Machina, depicting the relationship between robots and their creators. Companies’ growing interest for the employment of AI robots gives rise to a significant reflection on the emerging issue. Conservatives may value human interactions and autonomy, as well as equality, whereas robots’ employment relies on effectiveness …show more content…

A major economic crisis follows from hiring AI robots, due to the significant decrease in human “job openings” and employment (Drum). In fact, “around half of existing jobs are at high risk [of being removed from the human responsibility] over the next 10 to 20 years” (Thirgood and Johal). A “shortage of relatively well-paying jobs” also contributes to affect the actual economy (Rotman). Indeed, the economy being based on the national income from labor and from capital share, AI robots’ invasion in the industries would cause a major drop regarding the overall humans’ national income from labor (Drum). Artificially intelligent machines would control the employment sector and managers would make profit, but the unemployed mass would be pushed to the bottom due to the lack of available jobs. That “steady decline in the share of the population that's employed” results in an economic crisis, since AI robots do not contribute to the national income, but rather belong to businessmen (Drum). A national economy relying on artificial intelligence robots as workers while mass unemployment is problematic corresponds to an economic crisis. Additionally, from the Social contract theory, businessmen should praise the mutual benefits of cooperating with their employees in order to ensure the commonwealth of the whole. Replacing human functions with AI robots breaks down the employer-employee contract, as the employer’s own profits are selfishly preferred over the well-being of their human workers. The society relies on a collaboration between the social classes and hiring AI workers threats the lower classes (Drum). Laid-off employees would feel unjustly treated and betrayed by their The disagreement between AI robots’ employment and the Social contract theory implies that is it fair to refuse to hire artificially intelligent bots in order to maintain the society’s
