Activated Charcoal and Its Survival Uses
Before we get started let's have a short science class on activated charcoal. The short version is that activated charcoal is carbon, real organic material that has been reduced to charcoal just like a piece of hardwood burning in your campfire.
Once in charcoal form it is then crushed into a fine powder and heated at a very high temperature, a temperature that cannot be achieved by an open fire such as a campfire. Once heated it is then exposed to argon and nitrogen gasses. Finally, the charcoal is exposed to oxygen and steam which further opens up millions of tiny pores.
There are other methods for making activated charcoal that involves chemicals, but this, in our minds, defeats the purpose, because the chemical process can and will leave behind residual

I am writing to inform you about the negative effects of passive smoking on a child’s health. Passive smoking also known as second hand smoking is when you inhale smoke from other people’s cigarettes, cigars or pipes. This action is very bad in concern to health overall. In children especially, the negative effects include; respiratory illness, asthma attacks and symptoms, lung airway disease, brain cancer, lymphomas and meningococcal disease. All these disease are injurious to health and is why you should not smoke around children. Second hand smokers are just as endangered as smokers as they are equally exposed to the fatal diseases.

Not all the villagers have access to biogas stoves. For those villagers that use biogas there is no smoke when cooking, but they do not have access to biogas all year round.
