Mazin Ahmed Period 1 Moshtagh 13 March 2014 The Man with a Dream Peace as defined by Merriam Webster’s Dictionary is a state of tranquility or quiet. Peace had a major part in the Civil Rights Movements. The Civil Rights movement had many important people, who had a major impact on to the movement; from peaceful to violent, they ranged from Rosa Parks to Malcolm X. Of the many important people Martin Luther King Jr. had the most prominent influence among the many commonly known activists, mainly because his actions were peaceful and nonviolent. There were many ways that King used nonviolence, one of the many major movement was the March on Washington. The march on Washington was when civil rights and religious organizations gather people to march on Washington D.C. It was estimated that 200,000 to 300,000 people marched to the Washington Monument. It was here that Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
