SQUEEEKK! The police car skidded across the side of the road, leaving a swiveling trail of black marks in its tracks. “Stop right where you are!” A deep officer’s voice shouted out the car window. Melanie and Henry’s faces turned red as a tomato. “What's wrong.. officer?” Henry stuttered weakly as he and Melanie paused from walking. “I've got a report about you kids, especially you, girl!” The officer screeched, peeking above the top of his deep blue sunglasses. Melanie and Henry's innocent faces turned toward each other, shocked, then their eye’s went right back to the officer’s. “Gimme that bag!” The officer continued, ripping Melanie's brand new bag from her shoulder. “Well….well…..well… look what we have here!” The officer laughed as he pulled a sharp, blood red knife from Melanie's bag! …show more content…

“Cuff ‘em!” The officer motioned toward the car. Five large men piled out of the tiny car, two carried handcuffs, while the others held guns. Surrounded with nowhere to run. The young children screamed at the top of their lungs as they were held roughly against the sidewalk. “We didn't do it.. someone put that in her bag!” Henry balled. “We’re just children!” Melanie's eyes filled with tears and terror. The sharp metal handcuffs scraped against their skin, clicking shut. That noise will be played through their mind for years. They were probably never coming off. Five years have passed since they have been locked up. In jail for being innocent. But this… this was the year they would finally get justice. The same schedule for five years; eat, work, sleep,
