7.4 Material Retrieval All SSP owned material in storage at the SWSLCS facilities is to be pulled or retrieved by SWSLCS personnel as follows: NOTES: • Although a request to pull material for shipment normally begins the material retrieval process, other local requirements and project actions can also start the process such as testing of material, kitting of material, or engineering requests. • Guidance MITA-5 Gyroscope shipments shall be in accordance with OP-6681-010. a. For each individual pull or pick request, locate the appropriate storage container (bin, box, package, rail, etc.) and retrieve the appropriate material. If a discrepancy is found, the IM shall notify the requestor and update the database as needed. c. As required for ESD materials, take the storage container to an approved ESD workstation. d. Check the package markings, item part numbers, serial numbers, and/or lot numbers against the pull request to ensure that it is the correct material. Notify the IM to resolve any differences. e. Count out and separate the quantity required from the material that is to be placed back into storage. If all or part of the material is NOT found, contact the IM to resolve any differences. f. Spot inspect remaining item packaging and/or other packing materials for visual damage or deterioration. If visual damage or deterioration is found, notify the IM. g.
