Step 1:
The 1920s is a decade that helped set the tone for the rest of the century. This decade was known as the “Roaring ‘20s”.
During the 1920s, wages increased and workers had to spend more money on taxes and other needs. The stock market crashed in 1929 which lead to the loss of jobs, fortune and businesses for millions of people.
Four year later, the building industry faced a huge decline. The 18th Amendment to the Constitution claimed that the selling and consumption of alcohol was illegal, yet Americans found many ways to buy whiskey and liquor. On the other hand, consumption of alcohol decreased to less than a gallon per person in 1934.

Step 2:
The airplane was invented in 1903 by the Wright brothers. They were used for mail delivery and commercial purposes. They had also been used in World War I for reconnaissance and attacks, but it’s poor control made it less attractive than other weapons of World War I. After World War I the airplane started to become a hit again. The accomplishments of the airplane surely makes it one of the most important inventions of the 1920s.

Step 3:
Ernest Hemingway was an American author born in 1899. One of his most famous writings is In Our Time published in 1925. This was the first book to present a Hemingway hero named Nick Adams, who faces situations which are not of his own choice yet threaten his destruction.
William Faulkner was a writer who added to the 1920s American Renaissance and helped usher a new generation of the 1930s southern literature. One of his important works is The Sound and the Fury published in 1929. It is his fourth novel and his first true masterpiece.
