OB ASSIGNMENT 12 ANGRY MEN 1) SUMMARY OF THE MOVIE: The movie is an American drama film that tells the story of a jury composed of 12 men that deliberates the guilt or acquittal of a defendant on the basis of doubt of reasonable extent. The 12 jurors are unique personalities from different fields of work and personalities. The movie starts with a court scene with the judge advising the jury the details of the case and that the verdict of then jury has the ability to save or kill a man’s life. He ends his talk with a condition that it must be an all or none verdict of the jury in either the case of guilty or not guilty. The 8th juror lead the group by presenting a switchblade that he bought for a cheap cost in a local shop selling those goods. This disputed the fact that the weapon was unique and one of the kind. This lead to some of the jurors turning their votes to not guilty. The discussion about the second fact about the old man was verified with the facts. The old man suffered a stroke in the past and has limited ability to walk around. This played a main role in stating that the claim made by the old man cannot be verified to be true. This when combined with the sentences that were heard by him was vague leading to a complete dismissal of the fact. This made the group of jurors supporting the not guilty verdict increase in number. The third fact stating the old lady involved a serious discussion given the occurrence that she was hiding her age in the public and also the fact that she wears spectacles. This was found by the marks on her nose left by the spectacles. This lead to the questioning the accuracy of her claim that she saw the murder occurring. In the middle of these discussions, the jurors also exhibited their personality traits, prejudices that were overcome by the 8th juror successfully with proper facts that could not be denied. All these lead to the group of jurors coming to the conclusion that there could be a chance where the defendant might not be guilty and hence gave the verdict of not guilty to the judge. The movie ended with the scene where the jurors left the court scene and returned to their normal
