Nurturing, passive, emotional and inactive are words used to describe women. For centuries, cultures, society, men and even some women believed that women are only capable of disturbing their careers due to family duties such as caring for children and aging parent (Dee-Ann Schwanke.2013). These expectations provide women with an unequal opportunity as employers seem to discourage them. For instance, women are pressured to do work in departments in which there are fewer advancement opportunities. In conclusion these underground barriers still exist despite the growth of female workers in management and in executive positions there still seems to be a higher advantage towards men.
The barrier towards women has not disappeared by analyzing the data provided it was found that the amount of women working compared to men is not equal. Most men working in management are usually seen working in senior level when women are working in middle levels of management. Without providing equal opportunity to women the glass ceiling will not shatter. Regardless without change women will just bump their heads against the barrier and will not pass through it. These women worked hard for their education and should be able to strive for their full potential without any metaphoric barriers.
