Flowers, Inc. will need to develop an appropriate risk response to each of these risks, in order to reduce the possibility of damage to the company.
Risk 1: Damages to east cost call centers
If a natural disaster hit any of the call centers which caused damage, it could have major impacts on the company. Unfortunately, natural disasters take place often, and there is no way to prevent them. This is why Flowers, Inc. must have a plan to mitigate the damage it can do to the company. There are two areas that this risk can impact: physical assets and human assets.
Physical assets, such as the call center building or equipment contained therein, can be damaged or destroyed by a hurricane. In order to lower damage costs for the company, they should have an inspector come out regularly to make sure that building codes and safety are up to par. This will lessen the chance of the building being damaged, because it will allow for any structural instability to be found and fixed before a hurricane hits. Additionally, the company should have insurance on all building and equipment, to help lessen the costs if it is damaged or destroyed.
Human assets are the employees of the call centers. The company will have to help protect the employees who are on duty when the hurricane hits. Employees should regularly practice hurricane drills, so that they know where to go within the call center when it hits. Ideally, the call center will have a “safe room” towards the center of the building with no windows. In addition to hurricane drills, all employees should be given a way to contact the company after the hurricane. This will allow off-duty employees to call in and assure that they are safe.
Risk #2: Loss of Florist

Additionally, the company should consider boosting their social responsibility and begin a water conservation campaign. This would especially be useful for the New Mexico call center, where they are governed by water conservation laws. Bringing awareness to water issues will help conserve some of the water that is needed to grow flowers.

Hurricane preparation is the most important thing in staying safe during a hurricane. Through technology we are able to track these hurricanes and have time to get ready for them. Recovery takes a lot of time and work, but safety and injury prevention should be your number one concern.
to reduce the number of fatalities in serious storms is to give people more warning time for them to go to a safer place. Many times in hurricanes people are told to evacuate there city or state. The more time that people have to do this the more that people will do this. Throughout the entire hurricane season meteorologists keep a close watch on the Atlantic and the Pacific Oceans. They examine pictures of the area taken by satellites, and also take information on air pressure, wind speed, and temperatures.
Processed milks are generally homogenized to further disperse the fat globules in the milk. This gives the milk its smooth and uniform texture. It also prevents the rising of cream to the top. After homogenization, softer curds will be produced, and coagulation may no longer be observed.
Let’s say your brick-and-mortar location loses power, or the buildings is destroyed. I think that any business that is internet-based that store electronic data, customer files, and documents needs a disaster recovery plan in place. With a recovery plan in place you have all the necessary tools to rebuild your business. Snedaker, wrote that some business sees a recovery plan as an inconvenience they might even be able to tolerate a system outage, but “every business that relies on technology wants to avoid having to conduct business without that technology” (Snedaker, 2013). Even though this medium size company may have not run into issues in the past a disaster can strike sometime without warning. The attitude some small businesses have about a recovery plan is dangerous and counter-productive. So having a plan in place will not hurt the company, but only make it better
In the event of a natural crisis such as a hurricane or an earthquake it’s possible that large hospitals would be overwhelmed. In 2005, Hurricane Katrina inundated New Orleans and many of the city’s hospitals experienced power outages. Those outages left the medical staff scrambling to care for patients who required life support. One of the hospitals was Memorial Medical Center they were so desperate they requested help from the National Guard. The National Guard was quick to send back-up generators to ensure the hospital could stay in operation.
On the same note, the occurrence of an earthquake in the region, which is highly probable, will actual result in a greater loss in the entire departments in the organization alongside disruption of their operations. The phenomena may further lead to the death of the staff members within the organization, from the intensive trauma and asphyxia among other related cases of acute respiratory distress and hypothermia. It is, therefore, important that the organization establish some of the mitigation strategies with respect to their operation within an earthquake-prone area.

One of nature’s most destructive forces is the Hurricane. Hurricanes that impact the United States mostly occur in the Atlantic and travel into the Gulf of Mexico. With winds up to 190 miles per hour, nothing can stand in the way of the most extreme category 5 hurricanes. Hurricanes destroy cities, homes, agriculture and anything in their way due to their high winds and intense rains. Recently, scientists have been supporting the idea that an increase of annual hurricane numbers has been tied to global climate change. The United States must protect its citizens from hurricanes through emergency notification systems, emergency neighborhood cooperation efforts, and reduce its contribution to global climate change.
The world is constantly bombarded with challenges and threats. As if life was not enough, these disasters come in many shapes and sizes and can greatly vary on the seriousness of them. The one major disaster that has been gaining more popularity and dealing more damage is that no other than the Hurricane. Hurricanes have been getting more and more powerful as time goes on and in order to survive them, we need to have a better understanding of their origin, how they affect your geographical region and the aftermath of a Hurricane.
Hurricanes cause massive destruction, they may make you evacuate your homes, and you may need to make a hurricanes plan for the next hurricane or one coming your way.
Risk Management is the process of identifying, analyzing and responding to risk factors throughout the life of a project and in the best interests of its objectives (Stanleigh, 2015). This paper is focused on the trends and methods of managing risks in a project. It also analyzes different ways of mitigating risks in a project and why risk management is important in an information technology (IT) environment.
Discussions regarding financial markets and natural disasters often center on risk management, highlighting the extreme losses than can occur. As risk management progresses into companies all over the world, determining the amount of risk present, and adjusting those risks in the best way suited for future objectives must be taken into consideration. Researchers are focusing on ways to calculate and diminish uncertainty, as well as detect, mitigate, and transfer the risk associated with over-industrializing and expansion of companies. Organizations must establish procedures that monitor the uncertainty of their operations. Coca-Cola Enterprises serves as a model by focusing on the prevention aspect of risk management, rather than reacting and responding after natural disasters have occurred.
... should be designed to reflect current hazards and unexpected future uncertainties. Moreover, the process of risk framework should be able to reflect costs and benefits before making a decision to remove threats.
...he government of Louisiana soon came up with new criteria on how future structure should be built to withstand more natural disasters like these. Not only knowing basic information, knowing how to prepare, and seeing how Hurricane Katrina was so destructive should help the forty five million citizens that live on hurricane prone coastlines prepare for anything like this in the future.
