A successful theatre production is every director’s main aim. Producing a text that aspiring set designers can follow, for the basic principles of successful theatre production set design is my outcome. To undertake this, my question is simply “Which aspects of the set design process are linked to a successful theatre production?” I have researched strenuously to discover the procedure of set design, from the first reading of the script to the production run.
The Script tells us more than just the performer’s lines, it also mentions specific set requirements such as windows, doors and stairs. It is also important to thoroughly study the script and note all key features, so that a detailed structure of all vital features can be presented to the director. Their vision will then be modified to compensate the strict importance of how the performers will interact with the set.
Planning with Drawings and Models after the director’s vision is noted is crucial. Colour can then be added to the sketches to give a more realistic appearance and give the viewer a sense of being in the theatre...
