Shakespeare does interesting things with his texts and when you really look into them, it’s crazy how similarly they can be compared. The acts tend to play out in almost the same format if you comprehend them enough. Shakespeare does this in a very clever way which makes up one of the reasons why he is so amazing and so known. The two plays that are relatively close are Romeo and Juliet, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. The first three acts are of parallel structure. In Romeo and Juliet and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, in the first act of both plays they are similar by there being many different love mix-ups, in the second acts how now the two lovers are together and are on the path for their wedding, and in the third acts the love is mixed up and chaos breaks loose.

Both couples have gone against the wishes of their authority figures but it doesn’t end well for Tybalt, Paris, Romeo, or Juliet. R&J is set in Elizabethan times, and the Chain of Being would have been disrupted by their actions.AMSND has fantastical elements that interfere with fate and these elements such as fairies and cupid, would have been understood to be higher on the chain than man by its attendees of the time. Is it the force of celestial bodies that makes R&J a tragedy and AMSND a comedy?
There are many different types of love in this world, thus there are many different ways of expressing love. What revolves around that love, and the many different circumstances, trials, and tribulations that a love might face can greatly influence the outcomes of that love. These trials and tribulations can also be seen as different literary elements when used in plays. Even though it was hard to understand at times I like the iambic pentameter and poetic language in Romeo and Juliet. Although I did enjoy the humorous parts of Shakespeare in Love but there was still funny parts in Romeo and Juliet.
