Stem Cell Research: the Way of the Future Ponce de Leon’s fountain of youth is a myth about an alleged fountain that can heal disease and even age to reach immortality. Is this so called fountain of youth just a myth or is this large challenge just in their reach standing right before us? The only way for people to achieve a form of immortality is through stem cell research and stem cell therapy. The reprogramming of cells and the addition of new stem cells will soon be the way of the future, it is only a matter of time. Only this research has been found to succeed through the heartaches of mutational diseases to the disease of aging. Even though, the ethics of religious groups will collide with the idea of stem cell research the overall goal will outweigh all of the corruption that the religious groups see but, we as people will have to endure all that stand in the way to reach the next level of evolution. The first question that comes to mind is, what exactly is a stem cell neverless stem cell research and therapy? Stem cells are the simplest forms of cells which are the first cells made during the organisms growth and development, also called progenitor cells. There are many different types of stem cells but, the most important one is the Totipotent cells (embryonic cells) also called the “master cell” for they enclose all genetic material needed to create any of all cells (Langwith 23). These stem cells are the most primitive of all cells created in the body, all cells start as stem cells until they are programmed into the cells in which the body needs. A single stem cell that has grown and developed into a specific stem cell cannot treat any illness unless it is specialized especially for that cell.
