In today's society there is something amazing that many people have taken for granted, something that has brought together old friends, sparked interests in new fields and arts, built new relationships, and much more. This amazing tool that many of us are aware of is social media. So many people tend to see nothing but the downsides of social medias such as facebook, twitter, and instagram. This leads to the major misconception that social media is useless and should not be used as much as people use it today, especially our youth. What these people should realize is that social media causes way more good than harm, and the little harm that social media does cause can easily be avoided. Despite people's mislead opinion of social media, more people should support the use of social media by both adults and the youth for its many benefits. Instead of focusing so much on the negatives of social media, people should spend more time acknowledging the positives and upsides. Social media has brought together family members, old friends, and built many strong relationships and friendships.Thanks to Facebook I myself have been united with family members I had not even seen or spent time with in many years. Besides bringing people together, social medias also make the process of hiring workers and accepting students easier and faster. Since so many people use social medias nowadays, businesses and universities and can get valuable information on possible candidates directly from them on their online profiles. Social medias allow these businesses and universities to also see the peronality and views of these people. Online medias also allow people to share ideas and information faster than sending and receiving emails and doing things of that... ... middle of paper ... ...ou possibly befriended online, the continuing increase of graphic content, and possible identity theft, however all of these can easily be avoided. In order to benefit from social medias as we were meant to do, we must carefully monitor the youth as they use these websites and prevent ourselves from posting inappropriate material or too personal information.
