Social Media Social media has a negative impact on our society today due to bullying, job stability, and in person conversations. Bullying affects people because they could attempt to commit suicide. When people have a job they could get in trouble if they start bashing on coworkers. In person conversations aren’t the best because people can give off false information about themselves. Being homeschooled isn’t bad, they miss out on extracurricular activities, sports, and so on, but if the student who chooses to be homeschooled would rather do that than to be at a public school where kids bully, then that’s the best thing to do and feel comfortable with it. Traditional bullying was physical and thus confined to face-to-face contexts. However, with the development of widespread social interaction via social media websites, email, and text-messaging, teens have additional avenues of expression and, as a result, other means of bullying. Over time the bullying taking place using digital means has come to be known as cyberbullying.
