The theme of the movie Lagaan is the realistic portrayal of life. The use of the country's most liked game, cricket, is a great example of Bhuvan’s characteristics. He taught different skills like leadership, team spirit, motivation and stress management.
Bhuvan was the protagonist of the movie. He was a person with great talents and leadership skills. He showed that in the movie by finding the players first. He had a hard time finding players because no one wanted to play with him. In a way, everyone was scared of the idea to play a cricket game and in return they would not have to pay taxes. He later on showsed that cricket is not a tough game and that they have played a game similair to that.
The second way he shows the player his leadership is by practicing with the players and teaching them how to play. Bhuvan was a character who does not give up or give in. He portrays a young man who is willing to accept any challenges that comes into his life.

The theme of the article “An Irongirl’s Story” is to finish is to win. This is shown various times throughout the story. The meaning behind “to finish is to win” is that even if you do not come in first place, you still win just for completing a grueling task such as an Ironman race. This theme also means that you should be more focused on accomplishing your goals than beating someone else's.

Throughout many student’s school career they will have read various books for several of their classes. Out of the Dust might have been one of those books, but for those who haven’t read it yet I recommend you make an effort to read it as soon as possible. This novel gives you great insight into what it was like to live during The Dust Bowl and all the hardships people went through in that time period. Furthermore, it displays the story in free-verse. Another thing that this novel shows is to persevere through hard times.
