Some of the traits that are most important to me are to be considerate, dependable, easy going, and being opened minded. 1. Why do these words describe you? Provide examples from your experience that Illustrate how each word describes you? Considerate, dependable, easy going, and opened minded, flexibility are all traits that describe me. Being considerate and dependable is something that I do throughout my every day life, with my job, family, friends, and co workers. In my job my employer can depend on me to get the job done. I have a little more realistic goals than I did when I was younger. I have grown up and settled down and realized that becoming a flight attendant is not good for having a family. Being gone all the time would not be very good. My career choice now is out of passion and having a rewarding career that will hep others. I am also looking for a fun career something that gives me the flexibility to do other things. I feel that becoming an academic counselor will open up the doors for me to have both a rewarding and flexible career. 4. Consider your personality traits listed in Question 1. How do these traits compare with those needed for the career of your childhood dreams? How do they fit with your revised, adult view? The personality traits that I selected fit well with the career of my childhood dream. It is important to be dependable as a marine biologist. Not only do your co workers depend on you to be there functioning, the animals also depend on you. Dependability is a good trait to have no matter what career path you have chosen. Being open to change and having new ideas is a good trait to have. I feel that the traits I have chosen fit within my revised, adult view. Considerate, open-minded, dependable, and easy going are all good traits to have as a academic/school counselor. I would imagine that there will be times where my buttons will be pushed and changes will be made where I will need these good quality traits.

    After taking the NEO-FFM Test, I received the following scores: O=29, C=32, E=38, A=36, and N=18. In comparison to the normative sample, I am considered average in terms of my emotionality or neuroticism, and I can I agree to the predictions of being emotional and sensitive. I naturally hold a lot of my emotions and the emotions of others, and I like to think that I am sensitive to others emotions as well as my own. The normative sample suggests that I am very extroverted, and I can agree to that most of the time. I definitely enjoy company and feed off of the energy of those around me. However, I have learned and can sense when I need to be alone. I identify myself as an optimistic person, and the interpretation supports my claim. While, I can have strong feelings about a particular issue or situation, I am always willing to learn and adopt new perspectives to broaden my view of things. Additionally, I can side with the interpretation results in the area of Agreeableness. I do not provoke conflict, and when I am forced to be a part of difficult situations, I approach them with a great deal of care and understanding towards the other party. Lastly, in terms of conscientiousness, the interpretation has greatly described my day to day processes. I do not like to make strategic plans, because I rather just go with the flow of the day. However, I do sometimes have to go against my natural impulse to do so, because I am so loosely organized with some things.
