He's a lanky fellow, dark-haired and self-effacing. He uses sarcastic humor to hide his insecurity (no one's told him it doesn't work). Even when he's being chased by a 100 feet serpent, he still manages to find the humor in the situation. He's been in a complicated love triangle and lives to tell about it. A friend, lover and slayerette......He's Xander Harris.
Good afternoon/morning Ms. Rosteing and fellow students. As you can see, my speech is on Xander Harris. If you don't watch "Buffy the Vampire Slayer", which you should because it's the best show on TV, you're probably thinking, "who the hell is Xander Harris?". Well for the next 3-4 minutes sit back, relax and get ready for a "goofy" good time (as Xander would say). His full name is Alexander LaVelle Harris. He's 17 and hails from Sunnydale with its renown Hellmouth. Mishap after mishap, Xander is always there with a witty remark or funny joke. Xander is not exactly popular -- with the guys or the girls. He's the class clown and has much more important things to do than study homework -- namely study girls. He hangs out with Buffy Summers (this generation's slayer), Willow Rosenburg and Oz; otherwise known as the "Scooby Gang". He's been friends with Willow as long as they can remember. Before Buffy came along, it was just him, Willow and Jesse, his best friend. When Buffy showed up in Sunnydale, Jesse was turned into a vampire and he fell for everyone's favorite slayer. Buffy joined their group, and with her, they started hanging out in the library with Giles, Buffy's watcher. In terms of relationships, this is where it gets a little complicated. At the beginning of the show, Xander fell instantly in love with Buffy. But at the time, Xander and Willow were best friends, and Willow had a sizable crush on the X-man. So there was this love triangle deal going, and the fact that Buffy had no interest in Xander made it one big unrequited love angst-fest. Cordelia was one of the 'popular' girls, and treated Buffy, Willow, and Xander like little bugs that you want to squash as soon as you see them. Needless to say, there was some serious animosity between Cordelia and the others, but through bad luck and circumstance, she discovered Buffy's secret. This became a major source of frustration for everybody, especially when Cordy was trapped in a basement with Xander, and their intense dislike for each other created some sort of twisted bond, resulting in a steamy kiss and a topsy-turvy relationship.
They all immediately judged him because of his race. Wes knew he would not be able to fit in with the other kids even if he tried. Had Wes tried to include himself in friend groups at school, he would have to face rejection as well as embarrassment. Wes did not want to be chagrined and so he separated himself from the other kids by having an interest in Ms. Tretheway. The narrator did not agree with Wes when he said that Ms. Tretheway "was so beautiful". The narrator was one of the bystanders who watched the other kids tease Wes, occasionally joining in as well. Everyone excluded Wes throughout high school and by then he accepted that but when he gets voted as best all-around student he admits that he "was so happy [he] could believe anything.” (Buckler, 115) Wes believed that he was finally getting included with the others, he had hope and anticipation. In the end, he was let down and avoided which led to the incident in the basement. Not everyone finds it hard to fit in but those who do may struggle with the pressures of society for

In 1997, a new series featuring a female lead aired, it was called Buffy the Vampire Slayer. This show became popular instantly and to this day it still remains popular, if not more. This series was named by TV Guide critics as “one of the fifty greatest TV shows of all time”, because of its feminist portrayals (Heinecken, 91). Buffy the Vampire Slayer was created by Joss Whedon due to the fact that he felt bad for women in horror films, he felt like their depictions were almost always sexist. Whedon quoted that the show he has created depicts, “the joy of female power: having it, using it, sharing it.”, which is important to show to women of newer generations (South, 35). What made Buffy so special was that there was finally a female character that was at
The number 23 has been worn by many great players. The two great players who have worn this number are Don Mattingly and Lebron James, but when you think of the number 23 you don’t think about them. You think about the great, the champion, and the best player to ever play basketball. This guy’s name is Michael Jordan. Michael Jordan has inspired many others to achieve their goals too. Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. At a young age they moved to North Carolina. He had two brothers named Larry and James. These two brothers were so great to Michael and he looked up to them as role models. Jordan had loved the game of basketball and had been playing it ever since he was born. He would always ask his brothers to play with him because he was a competitor and always wanted to win. He stayed this way throughout his life. In our world, there are people who judge mostly on everything or anyone. Living in a world which people judge on people’s appearance is an unfair judgment towards the person due to the fact of not knowing who that person is. The definition of segregation is the enforced separation of different racial groups in a country, community, or establishment. During the segregation it was basically a battle between the white people and the black people. This battle made it where at the point blacks had their own school and the whites had their own school, so they wouldn’t have to be near each other during this time. Ryan Leckey, a morning news anchor, and a Pitt-Johnstown alumnus, has one of the busiest jobs in Luzerne County. Even though Leckey attended Pitt-Johnstown, he spent a majority of his time at WJAC TV, only being on campus during his class periods. “Since I spent most of my time at the TV station, I didn’t really have much of a social life, but it was a lot of fun, and I’m really proud to tell people I went to UPJ.” Leckey said he always knew he wanted to work on television, so he came to Pitt-Johnstown as a communication major, and then received his master’s degree in communication from Marywood University. “I knew (communications) would be a good background in case TV did not work out.”

CALLING AS THE SLAYER: While waiting for Tyler (her on-again, off-again boyfriend) to crawl on his hands and knees to beg her to go to the school dance with her, a very peculiar man in a suit approached her, informing her of her destiny. Truthfully, she thought Merrick, her first Watcher, was a little nuts, right up until she was in her first graveyard, fighting a guy in desperate need of a facial. It wasn't until she plunged the stake into that first vampire's heart and watched him explode that she truly believed him. She spent many nights wishing she could go back to ignorance, and as she grew as a Slayer, she also slowly lost her popularity. Unfortunately, the relationship between her parents only got worse, and when Buffy came clean to her parents about being the Slayer, they sent her to a mental hospital. She stayed there for only two weeks, and quickly realized that if she didn't mention anything about vampires - if she lied - they would let her out.

Fifty one thousand fans were on their feet watching as the pitcher wounded up to throw his next pitch. They needed one out and the dream would come true. The whole stadium went silent as the ball was throw and. The year 2010 was a very memorable year for the Texas Rangers. It showed great sportsman ship and team work. Wait you didn’t want me to stop? Well can I just go on, I don’t have to tell you what happens do I? As soon as that ball leaves the pitcher’s hand it’s a homerun or an out, a win or a loss. Now that’s what I love about baseball. I want to talk to you about the Texas Rangers. They are not the most famous team by the championships they have one but they are one of the most interesting teams in baseball.
Buffy The Vampire Slayer has broken many barriers in its seven-year stint, creating new genres and enabling innovation in a previously barren area of television. The largest leap the show has taken though, has been in the way it has embraced its fandom, creating a symbiotic relationship between Buffy the show and Buffy the fanfiction. Not only does Buffy fanfiction seize upon unexplored areas and inconsistencies inherent in the text, these forays are often paid homage to by the show, and in some cases, even made part of the canon itself. Ideas and fantasies created by the fans can impact upon the show in a way that has never been seen before.
