Writing Class Reflection

Initial Reflection Math contributed substantially in terms of my academic success throughout the majority of elementary and middle school. Adding, subtracting and multiplying was definitely my forte. Although I was placed in advanced math classes in high school, I always understood math enough to do well in the advanced classes. Despite my success at math before high school, I always knew I was decent at writing and somewhat enjoyed it. While in high school, I learned to appreciate writing more, which slowly drove my heart away from math. Ever since math became such a difficult subject for me, I focused all my attention on writing because it came so easily. Considering writing has played such a positive role in my life, I am slowly starting to use this tool for potentially anything. Whether it’s for a text message or structuring a thesis that I’ll need in four years, I can continue to sharpen my tools. As I continue to better my writing skills at the university level, I feel more enthusiastic learn about effective writing form and grammar. One of the main points that I drew away from Writing 121 was the development and finding my authentic voice as a writer, being able to command and structure essays the way that pertain to you and creating a unique style of voice that differentiate you from other writers. In terms of critiquing myself as a writer, I still believe I have way more to learn about writing, but I am slowing developing my authentic voice as a writer. I feel like my writing pieces have better structure than they did before and piecing ideas together to have better sentence fluency is one of the reasons why Writing 121 was beneficial to my potential future academic
