Recommended: Importance of academic writing in the field of education

Writing is not the most fun thing to do in the world, especially when one is entering college. I am the least prepared when it comes to college writing and have always found writing very difficult. I was taught how to summarize articles and how to quote in highschool, but I definitely did not try my best which results in my poor writing. I blame myself for not getting the extra help I needed during high school, but I only learn from my mistakes. No matter how much I hate writing, I have to push myself to do the best I can because writing is very essential in any career. Some students say they do better under the pressure of a deadline. Don’t believe it!” ( Bullock and Goggin 50) This is great advice everyone should listen to, especially me. I used to think that I would write so well under pressure and in the last minute, but i can assure you that is not the case. I tend to procrastinate when it comes to writing essays and I am not very proud about it. Whenever I try to start a paper ahead of time, my mind always goes blank and I could not start a sentence to save my life. I think that is why I always wait to do my papers last minute because that way I am forced to write something to try and get a good grade. It is not the best technique to use when trying to write an essay and I hope I learn new techniques. Writing has always and will continue to be a challenge for me. It is not something I enjoy doing because I have a hard time writing. I know I have to work hard to write a good essay and to become a better writer. I am familiar with summarizing articles and quoting, but I know I am capable of writing better than I do now. It is not going to be easy and I will not become a great writer overnight, but with patience and hard work, I will get to where I want to
