There have been many wars in this world but two stand out from the rest. These two wars had a numerous amount of deaths. These wars that caused so much sorrow were the two World Wars. The two are different from each other but they are also very much alike. In this essay the differences of the two wars will be stated as well as the similarities. In the wars there were technology advances, as well as land claimed and lost. Also there were allies in one war and a different ally in the other. There were assassinations to start a war and there were invasions on other countries to start one. Serbia was under Austro Hungarian control and wanted to be freed but they wouldn’t give them up. Then a terrorist organization called the Black Hand took matters into their own hand. As Ferdinand was going down a street in a car with his wife at his side, a member from the Black Hand with the name of Gavrilo Princip was walking down that same street and saw him. Princip acted quickly and killed the archduke.
Austria Hungary immediately declared war on Serbia a month later which caused Russia to declare war on Austria Hungary. In result, Germany declared war on Russia on August 1st, then Germany declared war on Russia's ally France and then they invaded Belgium. England declared war on Germany and Austria Hungary.
There are some more differences from the two wars. In WWI Italy was in the Allied powers unlike in WW2 when they were led by Mussolini. Also in this war there were less deaths than the second war.
There are some differences between the two wars but there are also some similarities. One similarity are the countries in the Allied and Axis powers. An example of that is that Germany was on the Axis powers both times, and England, Russia, France, and the United States were in the Allied powers both times.
