Recommended: The role the US played in WW 2

The United States involvement in WWI and WWII have distinctly different causes, effects on U.S society, and consequences for U.S involvement in global issues. For WWI the United States had economic ties with Great Britain while WWII was triggered by spread of communism and fascism. WWII was really the caused by the aftermath of WWI. WWI began with the tension in Austria- Hungary and the enmity Germany had with parts of Europe. Though there has been wars and battles between other countries, two wars that involved major countries of the war and that caused many devastation and deaths was World War I and World War II. The first World War began in 1914 and lasted for four years until 1918. World War II lasted longer than the first one, it lasted for six years from 1939 to 1945. The reason behind fighting these wars are very different as well as it methods of warfare and its outcomes of the war. One similarity behind all its differences is the horrific outcome it left, the losing of lives and mass destruction.
What triggered WWI to occur was the killing of Archduke Francis, a heir of Austria and Hungary, on June 28, 1914 who was killed by a Serbian nationalist. The nature of this war was between countries for the acquiring colonies, territories, and resources.The invasion of Serbia was another caused for the war to break out, and at the same time of the invasion Germany invaded Belgium, Luxembourg and France. There were a number of new alliances formed which later cited conflict to spread around the world. Austria and Hungary invasion of Bosnia caused indignation in many European nations. At the time, Europe was divided into countries that had strategic political and military confederation.

...tions. Tanks and submarines were also used during the war. In World War II there were some new innovations, but were simply modernize form the technology used in World War I. The war ended with the victory of the Allies over Germany and Japan in 1945.
These two World Wars caused many harm to life of many people but were fought for the protection of other countries and for the United States. World War was fought for acquiring of land while WWII was fought for the containment of fascism and communism. Each war had different methods of fighting and technology use. Overall these wars caused a lot of unforgettable things such as genocide and scared people everyday’s life. Thought the damages of the war caused much destruction in politics, economics, and social for countries who took part of it, it helped the countries to rebuild and get back to its feet once again.
