There are many farms that treat their animals extremely well, but when they are sent to slaughter there are no guarantees the same respect carries over. Perhaps the butchering of animals should not be a manufacturing process. A return to nature would do the world a world of good. Although the days of hunting for survival are over, there is no benefit to people’s apathy towards the animals they ingest.
We, as humans, mistreat the animal population. On a smaller scale, the human population wastes domestic and wild, animals for medical testing, for their fur, and for entertainment such as dog fighting. These things may not seem to be globally threatening, yet the constant waste of certain species of animals and the destruction of an animal's natural habitat will lead to the endangerment and eventually the extinction of the species. Furthermore, many people are unaware that the world is currently in the midst of the largest mass extinction in history.
The wolf reintroduction to Yellowstone National Park improved the park’s ecosystem greatly! An example of this can be found in the article “In the Valley of the Wolves,” which states “Now, nearly a dozen years since the wolves returned, the recovery of that same system to its natural balance is well underway, says ecologists William Ripple and Robert Bescheta of Oregon State University” (“In the Valley”). The article explains that the ecosystem has started to recover and is continuing to recover because of the wolf reintroduction. Another example is from “In the Valley of the Wolves,” “… wolves affect elk; elk affect aspen; and therefore wolves affect aspen” (In the Valley”). In other words, if there were no wolves to eat the elk, there would be more elk eating the aspen, and aspen is a huge factor in Yellowstone’s ecosystem. Without the gray wolf, Yellowstone’s ecosystem might function, but not to the best of its abilities.

Human fascination for lions and tigers has prompted circuses, such as Ringling Brothers, to hold these feline animals in captivity for entertainment. However, these actions are morally impermissible because it causes unnecessary harm and suffering, therefore compromising the animal’s welfare (21). Furthermore, the moral issue that arises is whether these circuses are minimizing the level of discomfort their animals experience. It is said that in order to protect the wildlife, we need to be educated about the wildlife that inhabits our planet. It just so happens that by putting these animals into captivity, we are causing more damage to them, just as damage is occurring in the wild and more species are becoming extinct. Animals should not be held in captivity; it does not save them from going extinct, but helps kill them off.
Animal abuse is a travesty in our world that must be stopped. Every year, millions of animals suffer because of human actions, directly or indirectly. Whether it’s abused dogs and cats or even mistreated circus animals, their suffering is as real as it would be if it happened to us. Even animals who are raised on farms simply for human consumption should not have to suffer. One of the worst parts of humanity’s role in animal abuse is that there are easy ways for people to help that they are either ignorant of or simply refuse to do. There are many examples of animals who are abused by humans, but there are also ways for people to help prevent and put an end to animal abuse.
When these agricultural resources are given to the animals involved in meat production, these resources are lost. Besides the loss of land, the process of animal production is contributing to pollution and other greenhouse gases that are doing irreplaceable damage to the environment and contribute to untold negative health
