Dear Principal Warren, I think that cell phones should be banned from schools because during an emergency phones can make the crisis even bigger, because it’s a distraction, and because kids can cheat off their phones. If you ever given a kid a phone you know that everything else in the world is nothing. So when you want to lift the cell phone ban, you might want to think twice. One reason cell phones should be banned from school is because it can make an emergency even bigger. For example say there’s a fire. All the kids will be calling and texting their parents about the fire. All the parents will rush to school trying to save their kids. Just like in the article “lift the cell phone ban says, The text message and alarming system can help students for reminders.” But what they didn't think of is that it can be a distraction to other students. Image in class all of a sudden you hear a song go off. Everyone starts laughing and gets way off tasks way to quick. Maybe you even hear ding, ding, ding, text messages flying off the walls. Distracting isn't it.Well that’s what you would hear if cell phones were allowed in school. Or maybe even kids are going on a bunch of other websites. You have to face the facts, kids are addicted to their cell phones. Even if you try to give a teenager rules about what they can and can’t look at they still will go on other websites and not even pay attention to the lesson. Teachers get very frustrated very fast when they hear a bunch of texts and calls that aren't reminders. Even if you have a cell phone it still gets distracting having to hear all the noises. Most kids can't focus and hear noise at the same time, so when you hear text messages and songs you can't stay focused. In addition many kids don’t pay attention when you try to teach the lesson regularly. Who ever said that kids would learn better when they had there #1 prized possession in their hand.
