388 Words1 Page

The magna carta was the most important document in history. It’s principles have been passed down over the years and all of them important including having a right to fair trial. Magna carta means “The great charter” in english(magna carta is Latin). It was signed and sealed by King John on June 15, 1215 to keep any king from abusing his high power. It was between the king John and the feudal barons. The king agreed to the barons demands because they had supplied him with money and men to defend and keep that territory. King John was not very successful either. 1204 He had lost his territory in France. Because of this, he raised the taxes before asking the barons(which was normally done). This was not the feudal way and was against it.
