The career of a medical assistant involves special skills, specific training/eduction, and provides unique benefits for anyone interested in this field. There are important qualities you need to develop as an assistant. With this intension, greeting the patients and co-workers is your main job. As a result, assistants should be able to understand and follow medical charts and diagnoses. Most clinics and hospitals require special codes for recording billing purposes. Many insurance companies also rely on accurate records. Therefore, medical assistance must require precise vital signs accurate. Developing something called “interpersonal skills” is often very important because assistants can help a patient stay calm and any other additional needs they need. In addition, medical assistants should be able to use basic instruments so they can do patients heart rate, blood pressure and other test. It may take a couple months before an assistant is fully trained before keeping an office running smoothly. Physicians and other medical assistance teach a new assistant medical terminology, names of instruments, how to do daily tasks, and how to interact with patients. Many states do not require to be certified. Even so, multiple organizations offer certification. There are plenty of perks in applying for a medical assistant position. In addition to that being said, U.S.Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment states,“The median annual wage for medical assistants was $30,590 in May 2015. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $22,040, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $43,880.” With this being said you can arrange ways to live in a decent home with a job you love. Another, benefit comes along with working with a team and learn how to communicate in a much larger group. Occupational Employment Statistics states, “Employment of medical assistants is projected to grow 23 percent from 2014 to 2024, much faster than the average for all occupations.” Not to mention, after all the work and experience you gain can be use for a better salary or different position in a job. Medical assistance jobs are increasing faster than average. This also acquires additional skills for advancement. There are also other jobs such as dental assistants, occupational therapy assistants, and physical therapy assistants.
