I am used to being part of a team. Throughout my life, I have participated in collaborative activities including volunteer organizations, school projects, and theater productions. I have always enjoyed being in these groups no matter what position I was in. Working with several people to accomplish a common goal is one of life’s most rewarding experiences. Up until a certain point, however, I had never been the leader of a team. I was always the class secretary rather than the president, the benchwarmer rather than the team captain, the black-clad stagehand instead of the star of the show. That all changed the summer before my junior year of high school.
That spring, I found out that I had been accepted to attend a filmmaking workshop in Rockport,

It’s easier to have a dramatic story that remains serious the entire time than a story with well-distributed and consistent humor, and it’s even more difficult to blend drama and comedy. Two of the few people who can pull of this mix are the Coen Brothers, and one of their best examples of this is Fargo. It perfectly weaves together violence, betrayal, and murder along with satire, humor, and, and its core, humanity. The script alone is brilliant for these reasons, and the performances, soundtrack, and cinematography are equally stunning, making up one of my favorite films of all
A team leader refers to an employee who facilitates the activities of a team, for instance, by working collaboratively with them in a manner that helps ensure that tasks assigned to the team by an organization’s management are accomplished effectively and efficiently. Perhaps it’s imperative to mention that the roles of a team leader include guiding, instructing and offering directions based on an organization’s mission and vision (Northouse, 2012).
Being a leader is no simple task. During my Eagle Scout project, I lead a range of people, from adults to youth. It was my job to make sure everyone was working and, that everyone was capable of doing their task. I had many issues doing this throughout my project because I am only one person and I can’t be everywhere at once. Thusly made being a leader a drudgery. But I had an incredible set of adults guiding me along the way, who taught me that being a leader was not doing everything myself, being a leader
My vision of a leader – he or she carries behavior traits/abilities to motivate and/persuade the team; the team trusts the leader because they are
“Good leaders develop ideas. Great leaders develop people. The best leaders develop new leaders”, these are the words that were quoted by one of my teachers in high school who influenced and taught me some of the essential lessons in regards with being a good and effective leader. I always remember this saying every time I am working in a group or if I am given a task to lead a team. I’ve been involved in a lot of group activities in the past wherein I’ve witnessed a lot of group relationship that inspired me as well as taught me of the do’s and don’ts when it comes to leading people and getting along with your groupmates. Based from these practical learning experiences, I believe that I still have a lot of things that I need to learn and skills
Great leaders are few and far between, but everyone possesses the power to be a good leader. I have only been in the military for about three and a half years; most of this time has been spent at CMR St-Jean and RMCC. I have yet to be put into any major leadership roles, but from what I have been able to accomplish in regards to leading others and the leaders that I have been able observe over the last few years, I have started to slowly figure out what type of leader I would like to become. According to Johns and Saks (2014) leadership is, “The influence that particular individuals exert on the goal achievement of others in an organizational context” (206). From past experience, influencing others to do something can be complicated at times but can be accomplished by staying focused on the task at hand. The leadership roles I have been able to take part in have brought me to the conclusion that cohesion is the core factor of how I lead.
Throughout my life there has been many activities and teams I've been a part of. Such as cheer, dance, school plays, sports teams and church activities. In order to lead and help others, it’s key to first make sure you are organized and in control of yourself and your situation. If you do this you are better able to understand what others are going through and actually have time to care, listen, and do something about it. It's also extremely important, I've found, to have a good motivator or motivation.
I was the captain of my robotics team for 5 years in the tournament called FLL. Through the five years my team has progressed pass the regional tournament against 8+ teams every year winning at least 2 awards at regionals. We have gone to the James Madison University competition and won 3 awards at that tournament against many teams from all other states. We did not have the chance to advance to worlds tournament, because we aged out of the tournament, but now I am in my school team in the next level of robotics hoping to use my past experience to do even better. In group projects at school as well, I like to become a leader, so that I can take control, but through my taking control I am able to let people who are quiet or shy a chance to talk and give ideas.
Leadership is an interesting subject as so many of the general population are leaders in one form or another, yet a majority of us only consider leaders to be people who do great things. It is easy to forget the fact that a leader doesn’t have to lead a large group or a commit to an expedition of sorts. The reasoning for my mentioning of this is the fact that I am one of the day to day leaders that you will encounter. I have unfortunately lacked the opportunities to showcase my leadership on a large scale, yet I have still shown my leadership capabilities on smaller scales, particularly with my friends in Parrsboro. Living in a small town a distance away from other places to enjoy activities in, it takes a fair bit of coordination for these
The area of team leadership attracts a lot of attention in the modern world because of the need to assemble and deploy diverse teams for the completion of projects. The future of many corporations relies more and more on the kind of team leadership they have for their projects. This paper explores a number of facets that constitute effective team leadership.
When I profess that I adore young actors, I am completely in earnest. And it seems like the ones that the Hallmark network hires are always the crème de la crème. Whether they appear in background scenes, have a line or two, or are essentially the junior leads, I am consistently impressed with their competence as well as their humility. I realize their parents are quite often the reason they are well grounded, and when I noticed Shay Thorsen in the cast list for the sequel to one of my all-time favorite Hallmark films, All of My Heart, I immediately contacted her for an interview. And I am immensely honored to share our recent chat with all of my fantastic followers!
- In my own experiences, I have been both a leader and a manager in my professional life and find that leading can be difficult. Inspiring others to get on the same page and work together toward the same goal has its own challenges. It is much easier to manage the actual tasks associated with the project or the goal than it is to get buy in from others to complete those tasks.
Being a leader in almost any given situation has been an innate quality that I have possessed for as long as I can remember. I have always found myself nominating myself for leadership positions. My most recent and fulfilling leadership position was in my eleventh and twelfth grade school years when I held the position of Drum Major for Purnell Swett High School’s Marching Rams. Being in this position meant that I had to give up the spotlight of performance, turn my back to the crowd, and lead my fellow band members on and off of the field of competition, high school football games, and community parades. Over the course of these two years, I have learned many defining qualities about myself and have learned how to incorporate these newly learned and innate qualities into my everyday life.

A director will need to have a thorough understanding of the filmmaking process, and have to be very passionate about the field. They might also consider learning and understanding some of the more technical aspects, ones such as editing and cutting. Some subjects and degrees may be relevant and may help in providing some necessary skills. Art and design, music, or any performing arts subject may improve one’s creativity, and ask one to think outside the box. Music would also help someone when choosing different pieces to emphasize certain emotions in one’s film. Studying drama and theatre is quite essential for a director, this will be extremely helpful in creating certain aspects of films, and will give me many tips that may help me, such as ways to build tension. Language literature helps improve analytical and interpretational skills, which are essential for a film director to have. Most of these subjects would have given someone enough understanding in high school, but if they would like to extend their education in these fields, they could consider some colleges and universities. For Performing Arts, one could consider schools such as Julliard, while if one want to specifically go to a film school, the London Academy or MET Film School are both very qualified universities. However, the role of a director mainly comes form
