History matters to us because it's important to understand our history, know who we are, prepare humans to live in the world and learn cultural literacy. History tells what makes one special and give us perspective about our relations with other species, it also tells the distinctions about particular land and its people, along with their behaviors, and interactions. Without history, we would have the sense of self-identity, how one relates to time, and our connection will all humankind and our shared characteristics. History prepares us for real world events such as college studies, international experience, and for participation in civic life.
