Do Women Deserve Equal pay or Prize Money? Issue Analysis Introduction Do women deserve equal Prize Money and why? It is outrageous that today women are getting paid 77 cents to a men’s dollar for doing the same job every day and it’s disappointing that women are getting less prize money for winning the same championship sports etc, tennis, football and other sports because of the definition of a women’s physique. Its understandable that a women’s physique may show less definition, but this does not mean that their time in the playing field and prize money should be cut down a few cents less, it’s sexist and stereotypical that this is happening in todays society. Two of the best Tennis players today, Serena Williams and Roger Federa have a completely different pay gap and yet they play the same sport and play the same number of sets and matches. Serena’s pay is $495,000 and Rodgers pay are almost double Serena’s pay of $731,000. Men and Women play the same Tennis all around the world and women are paid significantly less than males in the sport of Tennis. In Basketball the pay gap between men and women is ridiculous, the women playing in the WNBA are paid $38,000 and the Men playing in the NBA get paid $525,000, yes women only play a season of 34 games and the Men play an 82-game long season but its sill outrageous that women are paid one fifth of the lowest paid player in the NBA. Two years ago, 52 players in the NBA were paid more than the women in the WNBA. Men and Women both play the same basketball game for four 10-minute quarters and they should deserve equal
