The was the saddest moment of her time, so many people perished. It the sinking of the Titanic. I believe that this disaster was caused by two things, the captain and crew, and the overconfidence of the ship tenants. First I will be exploring the reasons for the captain and crew being guilty for the demise. I believe that one major player in this game was the captain and crew. They ran the ship, so that had something to with the sinking. My first reason for believing it to be them is that fact that on page 19 it states that since the captain was in a nice dinner he didn’t get to see three ice warnings that were about 50 miles ahead. Another piece of evidence is that in our books on page 18 it says that when Harold Bride delivered an ice message to the bridge, he was met with an unconcerned attitude from the captain. One other supporting idea was on page 18 it says that Harold Bride was getting so many messages that when he got two ice warnings he only delivered one, which again was met with a nonchalant attitude, the crew just brushed it off of their shoulders. All of this means that the crew and captain just thought nothing of the ice warnings, …show more content…

One reason I believe this is because in a video that we watched, it said that there was really no way for them to see the icebergs because there was no sea foam splashing around them, and they were full speed ahead. Another reason it the fact that on page 22 it says that they had only made it so if 4 of the airtight compartments filled it would still float, but any more and it would sink. My final piece of evidence is that fact that on page 18 it says, “Besides, what danger could a few pieces of ice present to an unsinkable ship.” All of this means that they thought nothing would hurt them, they could never sink, which inevitably caused it too]
