Culture plays a major impact in our life and I believe it has the potential to influence many of our day-to-day decisions. I define culture in many ways. I believe our culture is something we come to know and are born into. Culture I believe is not only primordial in nature but can also have constructive characteristics. I have been blessed to be apart of many different cultures. At its roots culture means to me the traditions and customs that have been passed down from generation to generation. The great thing about this passing down of tradition and culture is that it can be very plastic and change in a very unique way. The Hispanic culture has had a major influence on my life. There are immense traditions that have been passed down with the Hispanic culture. To name a few are strong family ties, music, and religion. My culture does not stop here, I am blessed to come from a family that is diverse and has introduced me to many other different cultures. A portion of my family is Jamaican and African American. I have had the opportunity to be exposed to these cultures. Having been exposed to various cultures in my family, I have acquired many characteristics of their cultures. They have become part of my life and something I hold very dear. My different cultures that make me who I am have influenced my core beliefs about society and the world. One leading theme my different cultures have taught me is to love one another.
