There are spirit gifts that when certain people are filled with the Spirit, they are able to have spiritual gifts such speaking in tongues, gift of prophecy and demonstration of power such as physical healing, exorcism, and even raising the dead. There are saving action towards the healing of interpersonal relationship. According to Mark 9:38, those that are truly with God and filled with the Spirit can perform the task of casting out demons and healing other.

It is estimated that around a dozen U.S. children will die in faith-healing cases each year. Typically associated with Christianity, Faith healing is founded on the belief that certain people or places have the ability to cure and heal sickness, disease, or injuries. Typically this “healing” is associated by a close connection to a higher power through prayer, divine intervention, or the ministration of an individual who claims himself as a healer. Faith has been scientifically proven in the field psychology to yield benefits to health. Although faith has promised a greater wellbeing for many individual’s lives, it has yet to be a significant replacement for medication many people but relaying on faith as a means for medication.

A healing hospital aspires to embody what Jesus did for mankind. They care not only for the physical needs of patients, but also considers and cares for all aspects of their health. Throughout time, mankind has persistently been seeking ways to maintain their health and to cure those that had not been so fortunate in that task. Just about everything has been experimented with as a cure for some type of illness; whether physical, spiritual or mental. There has always been evidence of spiritual healing and it will continue to be an important part of any healing process, large or small.
The cornerstone of any relationship with someone is the ideal of grace and mercy. When grace is absent, dealing with people becomes difficult we develop issues with trust. Grace involves hoping that God is listening and will answer all prayers in ways according to His will. Digging into the cross of hope and prayer, this paper discusses the theological definition, biblical foundation, and practical application in order to identify how the two connect. What is faith-based healing? It can be generically defined as healing through spiritual means, healing brought about through prayer or rituals, or healing through the stimulation of a divine presence and power (Village, pg. 98). Father Jim believed that these definitions were lacking, however. According to Father Jim, faith-based healing must be considered through its relationships with other forms of healing. The health of one’s spirit is intrinsically connected to psychological, emotional, and physical health. Thus, faith-based healing functions as a part of a larger healing network.
The Church as a whole debates many concepts that are in the Bible, in both theology and in practice. One of these debates surrounds the gifts that are spoken of in the Bible. In one corner are those who believe that charismatic gifts are alive and well in the church today. The Continuationist view believes that the gifts have continued on through Biblical times and are still relevant for today. In the other corner are those who believe that particular gifts have ceased to be used in the modern church and that they were only given for a particular reason in Biblical times. This view is called the Cessationist. Today each view, and other views in between, and the practice of the gifts in the current culture will be examined for truth, validity, and application by searching through each view and holding fast to the scripture as the final word of authority.
The New Testament is primarily about Jesus’ ministries and teachings. As Jesus traveled from country to country during his last three years on earth, He performed many miracles and healings of sick, lame, and demon-possessed people. As a student, I can relate to this tremendously, since I am studying pre-physical therapy. "A physical therapist can help injured or ill people improve their movement and manage their pain. These therapists are often an important part of rehabilitation and treatment of patients with chronic conditions or injuries (Occupational Outlook Handbook-Physical Therapists, 2014)." Similarly to Jesus, I can help people and maybe even help heal their injuries as a physical therapist. However, Jesus is the ultimate healer that can work through me to make this possible.

The Charismatic debate on whether the gifts of the Spirit have ceased or continue to be used in modern times divides the Christian church. There have been some extremes on both sides of the fence. One view believes that, if a person speaks tongues, the person is under some demonic control and the other says that, if a person does not speaks tongues as evidence of receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit, he or she is not saved. Both views use Scripture to defend their positions. The Scripture was not written to divide, but to bring us closer to God. The Apostle Paul states, “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness” (2 Timothy 3:16, NIV). He also reminds Christians that, if “One person considers one day more sacred than another; another considers every day alike. Each of them should be fully convinced in their own mind” (Romans 14:5). Two views dominate the debate, on one side you have the Cessationists who believes the charismatic gift were intended to cease after the New Testament was completed and on the other side, you have the Continuationsts who believes the Charismatic gift were intended to continue throughout the church. Consider some of the central questions that will be answered in this paper. Are the gifts for today or have they ceased? What is the purpose of the sign gifts, and if they are being practiced today, are they being practiced in a biblical manner?

Before the power of God that transformed unschooled, ordinary men into powerful proclaim of the gospel, the Sanhedrin was unable to punish the apostles. This chapter ends with a report of the church’s prayer in gratitude for God’s deliverance of the apostles from the Jewish authorities.
Faith healing is predicated on the belief that certain places or individuals have the power to cure and heal. Meaning, something or someone can cure a disease or heal an injury by means of his / its connection to a Higher Power. Faith healing may involve prayer, a visit to a house of prayer or shrine, or just a strong belief in a Supreme Being.
In Mark Jesus healed many people with various ailments such as evil spirit possession, hemorrhaging, healing the deaf, the blind and epilepsy. The healings that Jesus conducted in Mark show that God’s love and mercy is everlasting. Also the power of faith and will power that the people had who were in need of the healing was very visible. Sometimes we go through situations and forget that God never left our sides during tribulations and His son Christ is within us no matter what. Also displayed in Mark through the stories of Jesus healing is the fact that God always has the final say so or judgment. Since God has the final say we should not worry or be too sadden by obstacles that we face. I truly believe that God will not give us more then we can handle and through obstacles we find our strength and courage to keep fighting.
The Holy Spirit is the gift given by God freely to those who repent their sins and believe in Jesus Christ (Acts 1:4-5, 2:38). It is God’s promise for all the people (2:39). The Holy Spirit is available to any believers even if they are the gentiles. Peter was astonished when he saw that the gentiles also received the Holy Spirit (10:24-48). He realized that ‘God does not show favoritism but accepts from every nation the one who fears him and does what is right’ (10:34-35). Since it is the gift from God, it cannot be purchased with money (8:19-20).
Prayer is so powerful that we don’t even realise what it can do for others and our own lives. The physical world is always effected by what’s happening in the spiritual world first so prayer is the place to go!
