Wall-E Essay

The film Wall E sends a clear message that devices are taking away our humanity - it was a lack of humanity that destroyed Earth, while Wall E’s human characteristics save Earth.

The movie Wall-E is a Pixar Animation film that was directed by Andrew Stanton. The film was made to get people thinking about cleaning up our Earth, because if we don’t, our Earth will turn out like the Earth in Wall-E. The human race left Earth and went into space on a holiday ship called the Axiom. While the human race is on the Axiom, they left robots called Wall-E’s (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-class) to clean up the Earth. All of them broke down except a unique one, called Wall-E. Wall-E is displaying signs of humanity by taking interest in these things he finds, while he does the job he’s programmed to do. Soon he finds Eve (a robot from the human race sent back to find out if Earth is livable again). Wall-E gives this plant to her, but she loses it. When Wall-E finds the plant again he ends up getting crushed, but even when he is crushed he gives the plant to Eve who doesn’t want to take it but ends up taking it to the captain who then understands that Earth is livable again and that the human race is able to go back. This shows that Wall-E’s humanity has spread to Eve and that soon it will spread to the human race as well. Andrew Stanton is showing that we need humanity, humanity is part of us and without it we will turn out like someone out of Wall-E, and we would need someone like Wall-E to help us get back our humanity. Andrew Stanton has used camera angles for example an extreme close ups when Wall-E finds the plant to show his curiosity.

Andrew Stanton has made an amazing movie that not only warns kids, teenagers and adults to not take technology for granted and to stop being lazy and wasteful because our Earth could easily become like The Earth in Wall-E. Andrew Stanton uses many different camera angles throughout the film to show important moments, like Wall-E’s expressions. His use of lighting makes the characters and objects look 3D. The actors playing Wall-E and Eve have to put a lot of emotion into the one or two words they can say, so it’s very important that they say their words with the right
