Vaginoplasty is plastic surgery for the vagina. More commonly known as vaginal rejuvenation, it is often done to help strengthen vaginal muscles that significantly weaken after childbirth. These procedures often involve removing of vaginal tissue or grafting tissue from other parts of the body.

Why Get Vaginoplasty?
Vaginoplasty originally started as a means for female with vaginal deformations, injuries or serious stretching due to childbirth to correct those issues. But today, more and more women are undergoing the procedure for more cosmetic reasons. As women age or go through childbirth, the tissue in and around the vagina gradually become loose as the muscles on the pelvic floor become weaker. This cause the vagina to feel wider and although these changes are natural, they can often have negative effects on a female’s sex life by causing her partner to feel less sensation during sex. It also raises the female self-conscious level about her body. Work can be done on the entire vagina or on various sections, but the level of work done again depends on the needs of the patient.
Reconstructive surgery may be performed in order to repair vaginal defects which may have been cause by disease or a trauma. This may involve the removal of tissue from another part of the body to be used to replace the damaged vaginal tissue in the treatment area.
Tightening of the vaginal muscles is another procedure that can be performed. Known as Vaginal Rejuvenation, this procedure done to help change the appearance of the vagina and give it a more youth feel.
