Infertility is the inability to conceive any children after 12 months of trying to conceive after having unprotected sex. The infertility condition can be present in both partners. The cause may be physical, including immature sexual organs, abnormalities of the reproductive system, hormonal imbalance, and dysfunction or abnormalities in other organ systems, or it may result from psychologic or emotional problems. There are treatments for men or women like drugs, assisted reproductive technology, in vitro fertilization (IVF), artificial insemination, and surgery. Infertility can have many causes as age, spouse sperm count and morphology, smoking, weight, whether or not a women ovulate or not, whether she have any blockages or abnormalities in their Fallopian tubes. Usually a fertility specialist will order a pelvic ultrasound to start out, to check for blockages and abnormalities in the uterus and a semen count from the spouse to see how are his sperm, how they are shaped and how they move. Depending on the results from that, the doctor may put the women on a for a few months drug to stimulate the ovary and that way she can ovulate if she don 't ovulate. Also, female infertility may be caused by structural disorders of the Fallopian tubes, uterus, hormonal imbalances, or problem with the cervix. Physical occlusion of the Fallopian tubes, structurally preventing the egg and the sperm from meeting.
