Have you ever wondered about the early life of Hip-Hop artist Tupac (Tupac Amaru Shakur)? He was born June 16, 1971, in East Harlem, New York. He was raised by Afeni Shakur and Billy Garland. He also has 6 siblings, and he grew up there until 1984. He then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where he attended the Baltimore School for the Arts, which played a big role in his music career. In 1988, he moved to Marin City, California, and attended Tamalpais High School. After dropping out, he started selling drugs and became involved in the gang culture, which later influenced his songs. He then started writing poems and songs. He got a manager named Leila Steinberg, who helped him as a mentor until he needed a professional manager. In 1991 Tupac released his first solo album and became a central figure for West Coast Hip-Hop from his conscious rap lyrics. He went on to achieve even more success with albums such as "Me Against the World" and “All Eyez On Me” which is considered one of the greatest hip-hop albums of all time. Tupac was very successful not just with his music but also with his acting skills, he was always involved in the East Coast-West Coast Hip-Hop Rivalry, which was a big deal in the 90’s.
