Tupac Shakur is widely considered by his fans as one of the best, most life changing, influential, and one of the best rappers of the nineties. The rapper’s hoarse and great voice described his absolute contradiction, setting misogyny against praise of strong women. One of these strong women included his mother who had to raise him and her other child by herself throughout the tough times in her life according to one of his greatest hit songs “Dear Mama”. He also gave a critically praised performance by starring as opposite of Janet Jackson in John Singleton’s movie called “Poetic Justice” which was released in 1993. Despite having a promising start and wide praise for his performance throughout his acting career, the rest of his film work was less praised such as “Tank” in 1996 and “Gridlock’s in 1997. The shooting came about two hours after a brawl that involved Shakur and Knight in the lobby of the MGM Grand Hotel which was an incident that ultimately led to Knight, who was 31 years old at the time, to be handed a nine-year prison sentence for violating his parole.
