Tupac Shakur was born in New York City in 1971, his name came from [Tupac Amaru who was a South American revolutionary fighter who led the indigenous revolt against a Spanish rule. “Tupac Amaru” means “shining serpent.” “Shakur” means “thankful to God” in Arabic.]- (Briceño, 2014)
[He was known by his stage name 2Pac, and he was an American rapper. Shakur has sold more than 75 million albums worldwide, making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Most of Tupac's songs are about growing up amid violence and hardship in ghettos, racism, other social problems and conflicts with other rappers during the East Coast-West Coast hip hop rivalry. Shakur was shot and killed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1996.

Clothing with his image on it or a quote of a song is still being used and his music is still being downloaded. Nobody has forgotten this influential poet because he was such a huge impact to a lot of people.
Tupac's music plays a big role in pop culture. His music was heard by millions of people and has influenced many. The music he wrote was the real deal. He sang about the troubles of growing up with a single parent, having to go through racism every day, etc. His music is nothing compared to today's, he became a living symbol of his generation.
