April 11, 1912, the RMS Titanic set sail to America. The passenger boat was the trip of a lifetime. The Titanic The ship took two years to construct and build- many people believed it was unsinkable. On the fourth night of sailing, April 15, 1912, the RMS Titanic sunk into the pits of the Atlantic ocean and changed the world forever. Overall, there was 2,208 people who boarded the ship in total. Only 708 people survived (Deborah Hopkinson Titanic; Voices from the Disaster 12). This tragic accident changed the world for the worse.

The Titanic was one of the most exciting pleasures in its time. The Titanic was designed with all of the new twentieth century technology. It was spacious, it had cafes with French servers, and the engines moved quickly to get passengers to their stop on time (Deborah Hopkinson Titanic; Voices from the …show more content…

Most men let the children and women go on the lifeboats first, and they stayed to help on board. Most of the men died when the ship sunk onto the ocean. They were sucked down with it. ONly one male survived in the water. He had been drinking earlier in the night, and this was why he survived ("Titanic Facts." Titanic Facts. N.p., n.d. Web. 20 Apr. 2016).

There was 419 women on board. Only 106 survived. The women were in charge of making sure the children were safe and they led the lifeboats. Most of the women died in the lifeboats frozen, or drowned due to being unable to swim.

The band played music to calm passengers down. They played until the ship sank and none of them made it. One of their very last songs was ¨Songe d´ Automne¨.

There was also many pets. The pets were stored in the basement of the boat. There was twelve dogs, thirty four birds, and one cat. Only two dogs survived because they were small enough to fit on a lifeboat. None of the birds survived because they were trapped in cages. The cat was the ship's pet and was thought to survive but died of hypothermia later
