Two of my friends, who happen to be Latinos, support Trump. Eric Marquez and Victor Luna both firmly believe Trump is the right person to lead the Nation. However, time and time again, Donald Trump has made statements that suggest these two would be voting against their best interest and the best interest of the country.

Donald Trump has said in different interviews that certain people just do not belong in America. Donald Trump’s first openly racist comments of Mexicans and Latinos happened in his Presidential speech announcement. “When Mexico sends its people, they are not sending their best. They are not sending you; they are sending people that have a lot of problems. They are bringing drugs, they are bringing crime, they are rapists, and some I assume are good people.” Donald Trump was not only targeting Mexicans, but also immigrants from other countries. His proposed policies would not only affect undocumented immigrants but also citizens if he were to be elected President. Some of these anti-immigrant policies propose stripping babies born to undocumented immigrants of their birthright citizenship and deporting the parents. This immigration reform would deport families back to their countries of origin. The estimated cost of the mass deportation of 11.3 million undocumented immigrants would be roughly between $400 billion and $600 billion, according to American Action Forum and Forbes.
